Two weekends ago we traveled to Paris & Versailles to tour, see some art, and of course, eat.
We started the weekend properly, with a French dinner accompanied by wine, endless amounts of bread, and an amazing view of Sacre Coeur.
Sacred Heart sistas, this ones for you!
On Friday morning we ventured out to Versailles since none of had visited the magnificent town and palace of Louis XIV.
After touring the Hall of Mirrors and the bedrooms of the King and Queen, we strolled in the gardens and had lunch.
Before heading back to Paris, we stopped at a bakery, naturally.
safe to say that a fresh baguette was my main accessory for the weekend
that night we dined near the Eiffel Tower
A walk through Notre Dame
(most people think this is the main lock bridge in Paris, but there is actually another, located near Musee d'Orsay)
Easily the best duck I've ever had from Cafe de Flore
Popped over to Musee d'Orsay to see Masculine/Masculine. The Nude Man in Art from 1800 to the Present Day.
The Louvre from Musee d'Orsay
Laduree
French onion soup + mimosas
a quick pit stop for fries + lattes
Paris is such a lovely city to visit for a weekend, although there is much more to see than our time allowed. Visiting all the museums could take a week alone! But to be quite honest, by the time Sunday morning came about, I was missing London far too much. We grabbed baguettes, wine, and snacks for the train ride home and headed home!
Hope you are having a remarkable week.
xx
