Grain Store

I first tried Grain Store with my mom when she was moving me here at the beginning of the month and immediately fell in love with the open space and organic menu that chef Bruno Loubet has crafted. It reminds me a bit of fresh California cuisine but with British suppliers (obviously)! The best part is its in my neighborhood!

love the napkins!

and the blue glasses!

baked goat cheese with garlic wrapped in a fig leaf served with toast

divine mushroom saffron risotto

Butternut squash ravioli, sage & mustard apricots, pumpkin seed oil

a whole fish with cherry tomatoes and grapefruit with garlic

we were far too full for dessert so we walked around the area after dinner and lost time in watching kids (and adults) run through the fountains outside that literally dance and change colors.

I've just booked a ressie here for Thursday night! Can't wait.

Shake Shack

Covent Garden is quickly becoming one of my favorite areas in London and this obsession only grew when I learned there is a Shake Shack here. They just opened up shop in July and are a huge success already–can ya see why!

The Refinery

As we strolled along the river, we wanted a bite to eat before seeing a performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre (which I really reccomend doing even if you aren't a huge theater person like myself!). Somehow we stumbled upon  The Refinery and cozied in for a little nosh and a few drinks.

Tom's Kitchen

If you're in Chelsea/South Kens area, make it a goal to have lunch or dinner at Tom's Kitchen. They have three locations but I love the interior of their Chelsea location due to the photographs on the walls. The food reminds me of fresh, local California cuisine but with a British twist.

(my obsession with cows continues)

a Pimm's for myself

delicious spinach salad with crispy beans, toasted almonds, and bacon

burrata with orange and toasted walnuts
(I have an obsession with bur rata and I've decided I like it plain and on it's own to be frank)

Caesar salad

proper fish & chips with peas + tartar sauce

Baked Cod with saffron risotto, clams, and red peppers

somehow we saved room for just a bite of dessert
