Cefalu

Cefalù is a cute small beachy town in the Province of Palermo, situated on the Northern coast of the island, which I mean quite literally if you had not gathered that from the photographs. We hopped on the train Sunday morning, riding for about 40 minutes east of Palermo, toward the middle of the island. In Cefalù, we had no idea what to expect and were blown away by the towns utter beauty. Upon arrival we climbed up a mountain (no exaggeration) to get an amazing view, from both sides, of the clear Tyrrhenian sea and terra-cotta roofed town that sits below. After our hike up, we moseyed down the cliff, starving, and searched for lunch. After enjoying a delicious leisurely lunch we explored the rocky path near the sea, before getting caught in the rain and absolutely soaked, quickly seeking refuge in the main church before hopping on the next train back to Palermo! Despite the rain, we thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful island of Sicily even though we only saw two areas. I'm still very eager to head further east and more south to the town of Augusta, a main harbor in the province of Syracuse, where my family hails from.

Enjoy! xx
