Russian River

Northern California and Southern California are two completely different worlds. Having spent last weekend in beautiful Laguna Beach and driving home to San Francisco, I saw a lot of my beautiful Golden State that I would have missed if our flight wasn't canceled. I'm continuing to explore Northern California for short day trips to get out of the city and enjoy the sunshine. Healdsburg and Sonoma are normally my go to spots, but this weekend, a few friends and I decided to head to Johnson's Beach in Guerneville (a town in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County) for the day. This day trip was the perfect example of why California is the absolute best: within an hour, you've driven over the Golden Gate Bridge, through acres of vineyards, and into a Redwood forest without even realizing it. Anyone else agree?!

frolicking like idiots

having ice cream for dinner is allowed in the summer, right?

Flavors Unlimited: dangerously good. I mixed together vanilla with oreo, brownie, and Reese's...

A quick stop at Sol Food for some limeade and dinner before hitting the road again!

The Bistec sandwich (thinly sliced beef, onions, avocado, swiss cheese, garlic mayo on french bread) + limeade always hits the spot.

couldn't have asked for a better way to end the perfect summer day!
